The 1 Day Energy Seminar is a very practical hands on all day class. The class is described as riveting and eye opening. Students work hands on in the classroom with items and then have short follow up exercises to reinforce the training. If the 1 Day Seminar is part of a longer curriculum teaching other hard skills then elements of the 1 Day Seminar are used as tools and reinforced during the other training where applicable.

Students walk away with a solid understanding of power, batteries, application correct usage of batteries and power. Ultrafast recharging and harvesting of energy and many other details that will allow the student to not be in the dark, have continual long term communications or use of their other mission critical electronic gear. Keeping their laptop, GPS, NVG, satellite phone, cell phone and the multitude of other battery dependent tools will cease to be a problem for the student in their career. They WILL understand the subject with competency.

People who are ideally suited for the 1 day class are civilian employees, embassy or government personnel, contract type employees, scientists, engineers and soldiers. This is especially true for anyone traveling to foreign lands and due to the possibilities of weather emergencies, terrorist incidents and situations such as the blackout of 2003, the class is very applicable for USA based personnel. Especially for people responding to Hurricane Andrew and Katrina type of situations or who can get caught in such an emergency.

3 Day Energy Class

The 3 Day Energy Class covers theTechnical, Tactical and Practical aspects of batteries, power and energy. The Technical aspects starts with Basic Electricity and Electronics (BEE) but is specifically tailored to the class and the application of the students. We assume the student has no knowledge of BEE and we teach BEE like a CPR class. As a basic, simple life long skill that won't be forgotten. What is taught is specific to the students and their needs. We're not teaching three phase 480 volts AC if it is not needed (and it is not generally needed).

The Tactical aspects of the class build on the technical portion of the class and apply directly to the technology the students WILL be using in the field. Everything from a penlight to a SOFLAM designator. The batteries, the types, the usage, which battery for what climate, the advantages, the disadvantages, where to get power, how to get it, how to splice, tap, generate, harvest, and steal the power you need. How to get the power covert and overt. In minutes or hours. The Technical aspects of the class also covers ' Field Expediency.' Explicit detail on how to use what you got with you and what is around you. How to power what you need, when all else is dead and you don't have the right batteries and you have to make communications. Career Special Forces commonly say, “ Wow. I would of NEVER thought of that” very often during this part of the class. This part of the class is eye opening and mind expanding to say the least.

The Practical aspects of the class builds on the teaching excellence at Special Tactical Services and their teaching mantra of: 1. Will it work? 2. Is it necessary? 3. Can you duplicate it under stress? The students will go through exercises and evolutions that will combine all of their teachings and future field needs into real world examples that will make them think, learn more and cement into their mind the hard skills of energy and power they need for their trade craft.

Types students who need to take the 3 Day Energy Class instead of the 1 Day Energy Seminar are: Special Forces soldiers, especially those with communications MOS'es and soldiers that can find themselves in a long term layup or a small team extended deployment (such as scout / snipers). Field officers who need to establish safe havens. Intelligence related activities and personnel needing long term power for information gathering devices. Personnel involved in quick reaction forces. Anyone who needs to illuminate, destinate and communicate for long periods of time in remote locations in mission and life critical situations. When it came down to the basics, a war fighter worried only about bullets and water. Today's war fighter is concerned with bullets, batteries and water to complete his mission.
